The first tropical heat arrives in Spain: next week

Spring is over. Next week, the first nights of tropical heat arrive in Spain, with daytime highs reaching 35°C in some places and 30°C in many others.

As reported by the Meteored website, this phenomenon is due to a significant mass of warm air that will extend from North Africa to Europe, which will also leave little cloud cover.

This weekend, there is already a significant increase in daytime temperatures, with highs around 35°C in the Guadalquivir Valley and above 30°C in the Ebro Valley and parts of southern Spain.

Throughout the week, temperatures will continue to rise, with temperatures likely to exceed 30°C in the north of the peninsula, while temperatures will exceed 35°C in many areas.

The evolution of the ridge that will affect the peninsula this week remains to be seen. It may not be particularly stable and could shift , which would facilitate the entry of a trough from the Atlantic, according to Meteored.

This opens up two scenarios: first, the trough would fail to reach the peninsula, the ridge would strengthen, and summer temperatures and occasional tropical lows would continue in areas of the peninsula starting Wednesday.

In the second scenario, a trough would arrive from the west, bringing instability to the atmosphere but also bringing in very warm air from the south, which would prevent highs from rising but would increase lows, with tropical nights over larger areas.
