Tikinmul community participates in self-care

With the free health care services offered by Salud en tu Barrio (Health in Your Neighborhood) , promoters from the Ministry visited the community of Tikinmul in the municipality of Campeche to bring health promotion, prevention, and care to the doors of those most in need, accessible to all.

Secretary Josefa Castillo Avendaño , accompanied by staff from the public health programs, made home visits to assist people who have mobility difficulties due to a disability or illness and are unable to attend the care units.

Health in Your Neighborhood promotes community participation in self-care. For this reason, coverage is maintained to reach more neighborhoods and towns in the 13 municipalities and strengthen basic vaccination programs, combat dengue fever, and prevent and detect chronic diseases and HIV through rapid testing.

In the Tikinmul village park, general and dental consultation units were set up, as well as units promoting healthy habits such as nutritional guidance and physical activity. EDUSEX provided services for adolescent sexual and reproductive health, SANNAFARM provided services for mental health and addictions, and COPRISCAM staff provided health regulation and promotion.
