The first running of the bulls of San Fermín was tense, with the herd divided from the start.

Three first chants for San Fermín and wet ground for the first running of the bulls of 2025, featuring bulls from the Cádiz-based Fuente Ymbro ranch. A fast race in Pamplona, characterized by the bulls' slipping, which caused the herd to be divided almost the entire way, although they never turned around, continuing toward the bullring, where they arrived in 2.37 minutes.

The steers led the way from the Corrales del Gas, where a large crowd had already been seen despite the fact that it was a Monday, the first day of the festivities. It was on the Santo Domingo slope that two brave horses fell to the ground, and the group had already split up and reached the Pamplona City Hall area. Four tame horses and three brave horses were ahead, followed by two and three behind.

However, at no point did they make any attempt to turn around, continuing forward along the 849-meter course, where some good racing was possible. The most tense moments were experienced at the beginning, when the animals fell behind, resulting in falls.

According to the first provisional report, provided by the Navarrese Regional Health Minister, Fernando Domínguez, six injured people have been transported. Three of them were in the Mercaderes area. One suffered a leg wound, although he did not specify whether it was due to a bull's horn, and two others suffered contusions and chest trauma.

There were also two injuries to the arm and leg at the Telefónica site, and another, also with an arm injury, in Espoz y Mina. Domínguez wished to remember Fernando Aldaba, a Red Cross worker who died this January and who has been issuing the injury report after each San Fermín bull run for two decades.
