Woman suffered from a constant cough for a month and received a terrifying diagnosis: 'I would have died by Christmas'

Beth Harris, a 24-year-old woman, saw her life take a turn when she was diagnosed with stage two B-cell lymphoma , a type of cancer that arises in B lymphocytes, a white blood cell, according to the Mayo Clinic. What began with a simple cough nearly took her life.
His mother, Debbie Harris, and his partner, Lewis Talbot, told him on several occasions that he needed to see a doctor, as it was unusual for him to have a cough for almost a month that nothing would clear up.
After the insistence of her loved ones, she went to a doctor for a diagnosis, but to her surprise, she was prescribed two different types of antibiotics that unfortunately didn't work.
Seeing that the cough wouldn't go away, she returned to the doctor, where they sent her for an X-ray and a CT scan to determine for sure what she had. After two weeks, the results came back, and that's when she received the devastating news that she had cancer.
In an interview with the British media outlet 'The Sun', this young woman commented on how difficult it has been for her to deal with this news, especially because she thought she was going to die and that her 60-year-old mother would have to organize the funeral with her boyfriend.
This has been his fight against this disease Beth Harris is a lawyer in Cannock, Staffordshire, UK; coping with the illness hasn't been easy for her, as she never imagined she'd have to face such a difficult situation at her age.
“They said that when they reviewed my results, they saw that I met all the markers for cancer. You know your own body, and I had a hunch when they asked me to come in, and my mind immediately went to cancer ,” she said.

Her mind was blank, she didn't know what to think about everything that was happening, because she didn't think that a simple cough could have led to her death.
“My month-long cough turned out to be blood cancer; if I had left it any longer, I would have been dead by Christmas ,” he added.
Upon learning the terrible diagnosis, her mental state worsened, as her first thought was that she was going to die and leave her mother with a deep sadness. She also thought that she wouldn't be able to fulfill all her dreams.
“I instantly thought, 'I'm going to die, and my mom will have to plan my funeral.' At first, I distanced myself when I heard the word cancer, but now I've accepted it ,” she said.

Beth was told she was going to receive chemotherapy for six months, but because of the fluid around her heart, it had to be changed because her life was at risk.
“I have lumps in my neck and chest and a major tumor blocking the entrance to my heart and left lung. Initially, they planned six months of chemotherapy every two weeks, but because of the fluid around my heart, they changed it to every two weeks for three months ,” he explained.
Although he knows his recovery is a slow process, after he finishes chemotherapy, he must take pills for another three months to completely eradicate the disease.
