The National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) issued a very important announcement to the entire Colombian community regarding the counterfeiting of the well-known product, Lua Fruit Salt, and the potential health risks associated with its consumption. What was the announcement?

Through a statement that can be viewed directly from the entity's official website, Colombians were informed about the falsification of the effervescent antacid after a complaint that was confirmed by the owner of the LABORATORY TECNOFAR TQ SAS. In this regard, the health entity stressed that the original medication has a valid INVIMA number under the name 2023-0013340-R2 instead of the fraudulent one that has the identification of SAL DE FRUTAS LUA PLUS LOT 0M8663 V DEC 26.

How can you identify counterfeit products?

Invima also made known the aspects so that you can differentiate the product and avoid it being consumed: 1- Its appearance and sealing do not correspond to what Tecnofar makes. 2- The typographical aspects are totally different.

3- There is a notable difference with the type of sealing.

Invima denounced the illegal marketing of a dietary supplement.

Through its digital platforms, the agency informed residents of the country that the DEOS dietary supplement is being marketed illegally because it lacks a health registration approved by the authorities. Consequently, they stated that this product does not fall into this category or is a phytotherapeutic product authorized by the entities that regulate these types of products in Colombia.
