2025 Youth Summer Program on Renfe, Ouigo, and Iryo: Step-by-step instructions for getting discounts
The government has renewed the "Young Summer" initiative, which allows people between 18 and 30 years old to travel during the three months of this season at a more affordable price .
This third edition of the program is endowed with €120 million and presents no significant changes compared to 2024 in terms of beneficiaries and procedures. On the same day the registration website opened, Minister Óscar Puente announced that more than half a million people had already registered, leading the Ministry of Transport to expect a final registration figure higher than in the two preceding years.
Young people will be able to travel by bus or train with discounts of up to 90% . For rail transport, in addition to Renfe , Ouigo and Iryo, the two private companies operating in Spain, are also included in the program. Here's how to get discounts on each of them, step by step:

90% discount on regular state-run bus services

90% discount on conventional medium-distance services and narrow-gauge network services

50% discount on Avant single titles

50% discount, with a maximum of 30 euros per ticket, for long-distance or high-speed commercial services of all rail operators

50% discount on the 10-day Interrail Global Flexible ticket within two months, when purchased through Renfe. The discount applies to official Interrail fares, which vary in price according to age, etc.
The first step any young person must take to benefit from the "Youth Summer" discounts is to register on the website set up by the Ministry of Transport. This can be done through cl@ve or by filling out a form by filling out their full name, ID or NIE (National Identity Document), email address, and phone number. Once completed, they will receive a code by email or text message. After 24 hours, the code will be activated for ticket purchases.

Fill in the field with the code received after registering on the Ministry's website
Renfe explains on its website that those who meet the conditions of the promotion and are Más Renfe customers will receive a 100% discount code for purchasing a new ticket within the next three months by traveling twice on the AVE, AVLO, or Long Distance trains.

Click on the 'Travelers' field in the search engine - both in the app and on the web - and select 'Discount Card'

Fill in the field with the code received after registering on the Ministry's website (the icon is located right next to the one of a person in a wheelchair)

A drop-down menu will open where you can select 'Add youth discount'.

Access the ticket search engine and select 'Summer Youth 2025' from the 'Include discount card' drop-down menu. You can find the drop-down menu above the 'search' button.

Search for the tickets that best suit you. The ticket prices shown already include the discount.

Click 'Continue' and complete the purchase
Those born between January 1, 1995, and December 31, 2007, are eligible for discounts provided they are Spanish or legally resident in Spain.
Travel with this promotion is only permitted between July 1 and September 30 , 2025.
