Bankinter raises the maximum amount to be paid on its account to €150,000, but reduces its remuneration to 2.5%.

Bankinter raises the maximum amount to be paid on its account to €150,000, but reduces its remuneration to 2.5%.

A mixed blessing for savers who had their sights set on Bankinter's digital smart account . The bank, chaired by María Dolores Dancausa , has increased the maximum interest-bearing balance from €50,000 to €150,000, although it has done so at the expense of profitability, which has fallen from 3% to 2.5% APR amid falling interest rates.

Thus, according to the bank, this account has the highest interest-bearing balance, allowing customers to receive up to €3,705 gross in a year by linking their payroll and Bizum, and up to €3,153 without meeting any requirements.

Bankinter's digital smart account has two compartments: the first is intended solely for day-to-day operations, with a limit of €5,000, and the second is designed for accumulated savings and pays 2.47% APR for the first three months, and then 1.98% APR thereafter. All this is fee-free and without any requirements. Additionally, if the customer links their payroll and Bizum, the salary will remain at 2.47% APR after the fourth month.

This account is aimed at new customers only, has no maintenance fee , includes a debit card with no issuance or maintenance fee, allows for free debit withdrawals at more than 17,000 ATMs, and allows for free national online transfers and check deposits.

Bankinter's digital smart account, which currently runs until July 22 , is one of the best-paying accounts on the market, even at a time of downward interest rate trends.
