Dian reminds the dates for the 2025 income tax return: they started in February

The income tax return is an essential instrument to ensure fiscal transparency and compliance with tax obligations in Colombia. The Dian, the entity in charge of this procedure, implemented measures to facilitate compliance, such as the digitalization of processes and the availability of online tools.
The tax calendar started this month. It is important to keep in mind that there are specific deadlines for compliance with tax obligations. This will depend on the last two digits of the ID or NIT of each taxpayer.
The deadlines for compliance with tax obligations in 2025 are:
Major contributors The payment of the first installment began on February 11 with the NIT ending in 1 and will end on February 24, 2025 for NITS ending in 0.
Payment of the second installment and the advance payment of the additional points of the first installment will last until April 9 for taxpayers with a NIT ending in 1 and will end on the 24th of the same month for NITS ending in zero.
Payment of the third installment and the advance payment of the additional points of the second installment will go until June 11 for NIT ending in 1 and will conclude on June 25 for NIT ending in 0.

Legal entities whose last digit of the NIT is 1 will have until May 12 to declare and pay the first installment. Those whose last digit is 9 will have until the 22nd of the same month, while those whose last number is 0 will have until the 23rd.
The second installment payment can be made until July. The last payment date for NITS ending in one will be until the 9th of that month. People with NIT ending in 0 will have until July 22 to make their payments.
Natural persons Individuals will be able to file their tax returns and make their payments until August, September and October. The maximum period to comply with the obligation will depend on the digits that end in their NIT or ID.
From August 1st to August 26th, you will have specific days during the month of August to comply with your tax obligation. Those with numbers ending in 01 and 02 will be able to do so until August 12th, those with numbers ending in 25 and 26 will have until August 29th to comply with the requirements.
September will be the deadline for those with documents ending in numbers from 27 to 66 to file and pay. Those with numbers ending in 27 and 28 will have until September 1 to do so, while those with numbers ending in 65 and 66 will have until September 26 as the deadline.

Lastly, those with a NIT ending in numbers from 67 to 00 will have until October to catch up with their tax return and payment. Those with numbers ending in 67 and 68 can do so until October 1. Those with 99 or 00 as the last digits will have until the 24th of that month.
Wealth Tax The declaration and payment of the first installment will take place in May. People with a NIT ending in one will have until May 12, while those with a NIT with a 0 as the last digit will have until the 23rd. For the second installment, the payment deadline is September 12, regardless of the number that ends your tax identification number.
Assets abroad The dates for filing the declaration for those who have assets abroad are the same as for income tax: legal entities in May, natural persons between August and October. In the case of large taxpayers, it will be until the month of April.
To avoid penalties or interest for late filing, citizens required to file must submit the documentation requested by the National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) during the established dates.
