Football and cryptocurrencies: which are the two Mendoza clubs closest to tokenization?

The AFA is advancing tokenization so that football clubs can access a source of financing. In Mendoza, two entities are negotiating to enter the blockchain world.
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) signed an agreement with Win Investments , a platform specialized in the tokenization of players' training rights. The alliance, for three seasons, will allow clubs of all categories to access financing through blockchain technology . In Mendoza, the company is advancing in a deal with two "large" entities.
The agreement with AFA seeks to offer clubs a tool to monetize the training rights of their players before their transfer. This strategy not only diversifies the sources of income of sports institutions, but also promotes the adoption of advanced financial technologies in Argentine football. Since mid-2023, the startup has held meetings with representatives of Godoy Cruz, Independiente Rivadavia and Deportivo Maipú.
A success story in the company's portfolio is that of " Tomás Conechny, who played for Godoy Cruz, was the player with the best return (ROI) our platform has had in the previous transfer market," explained Valentín Jaremtchuk; the CEO of Win Investments added that the profit margin had grown by 250%. This season, midfielder Tomás Pozzo, who plays for Tomba, has a valuation on the platform of 886 thousand euros.
Currently, company sources indicated that, encouraged by the good results, Godoy Cruz executives have resumed talks with the startups and Bodeguero could be "the next first division club to leave." Argentino Juniors, Banfield and Independiente de Avellaneda already operate in this system.
Through the Polygon blockchain, Win Investments digitizes the training rights that clubs hold over players, recognized by FIFA through the solidarity mechanism and training compensations. Investors can acquire a fraction of these rights and, when the player is transferred, they receive part of the profits. The first step for investors is to register on the startup’s website and complete an identity verification process known as Know Your Client (KYC). Once completed, investors can acquire tokens that represent a portion of the players’ training rights.
“With this tool, clubs can obtain funds immediately without relying exclusively on the direct sale of players,” Jaremtchuk said. “Fans can also get involved in the transfer market in an investor role,” he added.
Currently, 16 clubs are partners of this platform, which has assets worth 4.5 million euros . As part of the agreement with AFA, the company projects that this quarter, progress will be made with the inclusion of Independiente Rivadavia . Win Investments already has successful cases of tokenization, such as those of Nicolás González, Esequiel Barco and Fabricio Bustos, all with international experience.

The alliance makes Win Investments the main sponsor of Argentine football, ensuring its presence in stadiums, television broadcasts and social networks. In addition, the platform launched a mobile application facilitating access to the system for investors and fans. "Little by little, all the clubs will join Win since the AFA will work so that they can obtain this genuine and professional financing solution , and so that all their fans can access our products, support the clubs and invest in the transfer market," explained the head of the startup.
Although the initial focus is on Argentina, the company plans to replicate this model in other sports associations and federations around the world. “The fact that the AFA is the first federation to institutionalize this tool positions us to expand the system in Latin America and other regions,” concluded Jaremtchuk.
