How to improve your pension in Colombia? Expert reveals which certificate grants you additional contribution time.

The pension process is a topic of concern among Colombian workers due to all the changes that have emerged under the current government. Weeks of contributions and pension funds are among the most discussed issues.
Experts in economics and personal finance have shared relevant information about the income contributions that can be made, but also about the timeframes within which lifelong financial support applications should be processed.
If you served in the military or as a rural doctor, you have an advantage over the general population. If you fall into either of these two groups, it's important to consider how long you served.
According to information recovered from the Ministry of Finance, there is a document certifying the time worked or contributions and salaries that can be submitted to entities that recognize pension benefits.

This is Cetil. Once you have this file, you must submit it to the pension fund, which, as applicable, may be Colpensiones, Colfondos, Skandia, Protección, or Porvenir.
If you have never heard of this format, know that it is completely digital, which means that it is completed through an electronic form, but you must first request it by sending an email to [email protected], or also on the page www.queremosdatos.co
For rural doctors, the situation is slightly different, as they can request a certificate from the place where they provided the service.
According to Santiago, the financial specialist at the Academy of Success, the Electronic Certification of Work Time (Cetil) can help the two aforementioned groups add at least one year to their pensions.
"I say at least one year because some people served for 24 months. In this case, they could get two years." Regarding this information, an internet user asked Santiago if it applied to healthcare workers who had worked in rural areas or only to doctors. He replied that everyone, meaning dentists and nurses, are also included in this benefit.
