A person arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to two women in El Rocío

A person arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to two women in El Rocío

The Civil Guard has arrested one person for allegedly committing a crime against public health and causing minor injuries for supplying narcotics to two women in a bar in El Rocío. In addition, another person is being investigated for failing to comply with the duty to prevent crimes.

According to a press release from the Armed Institute, the incident occurred last February in El Rocío , Almonte (Huelva), when two women required medical assistance at a Huelva hospital for headaches, chills, a feeling of heaviness in the face and eyes, weakness, facial stiffness, palpitations, and fever.

After conducting the appropriate tests, doctors suspected they had been intoxicated and the results came back positive for drugs of abuse —amphetamines, methamphetamines, methylenedioxymethamphetamine —so they filed a complaint, as they could have been drugged at the bar where they were with other friends.

Following the events, the victims filed a complaint at the Almonte Civil Guard Main Post upon discharge from the hospital, where medical reports were provided. Officers took a statement about what happened at the bar where they were with some friends, and the investigation began.

Once the agents were transferred to the scene, they were able to verify the existence of security cameras , so once they viewed the images, they were able to observe how one of the men, taking advantage of the fact that the two women were dancing, slipped the substance into their drinks , with another person on the scene who did nothing to prevent it.

The perpetrator was finally arrested in San Roque (Cádiz) and brought before a court the same morning. Furthermore, another suspect, a resident of Lebrija (Seville), was questioned that same day. The Civil Guard recommends keeping an eye on your drinks to prevent incidents like this from happening again.
