Ieqroo Public Forums begin for the election of judges and magistrates

This week, the Quintana Roo Electoral Institute (Ieqroo) will launch the Public Forums of the Extraordinary Electoral Process of the Judicial Branch, an initiative that opens the doors for citizens to listen to and directly question those aspiring to hold positions as judges and magistrates in the state.

The meetings, which will be held both in person and remotely, aim to promote an informed and transparent election ahead of the June 1 election, when the people of Quintana Roo will elect by popular vote the heads of the Superior Court of Justice, the Judicial Disciplinary Tribunal, and a wide range of judges.

Through these forums, candidates will have the opportunity to publicly present their profiles, professional experience, and proposals for transforming the administration of justice in Quintana Roo.

In addition, a channel of direct dialogue with citizens will be opened, allowing voters to learn firsthand about those seeking to occupy a fundamental role in the institutional life of the state.

The forums will be held between May 12 and 20, with scheduled participation in the evening. The remote forum will be held through digital platforms, while the in-person forum will take place on May 20, with candidates attending at the corresponding venues.

Each session will be divided into two two-hour blocks: one from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and the other from 8:00 to 10:00 PM. During this time, candidates will be able to introduce themselves, answer questions, and present their views on the Quintana Roo judicial system.

Citizens will be able to follow the live broadcasts through Ieqroo's social media and official channels. In addition, the videos will be available for later viewing, so that any voter can gain in-depth knowledge of the participants in this race.
