Quintana Roo is ready for the 2025 judicial elections: electoral materials arrive

This weekend, the 6,057,924 ballots that will be used in the Extraordinary Electoral Process of the Judicial Branch arrived in Quintana Roo. For the first time, citizens will directly elect magistrates and judges on June 1st.
The documentation was transported from Mexico City under strict security measures to distribution centers located in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Solidaridad, and Othón P. Blanco, from where it will be distributed to the 11 municipal councils.
According to the Quintana Roo Electoral Institute (Ieqroo), of the total ballots received, 1,514,481 are earmarked for the election of magistrates to the Superior Court of Justice; the same number for the Judicial Disciplinary Tribunal; and 3,028,962 for the election of judges, in both ballot types: Type A and Type B.
In addition to the ballots, supporting documentation was also provided, such as vote count and counting records, municipal and state results posters, majority and validity certificates, and materials necessary for election day.
With the arrival of this documentation, the Ieqroo announced that it will begin official distribution to the 11 municipal councils this week, in coordination with the National Electoral Institute (INE), which had already received another batch of materials last week, including voting records, incident reports, indelible ink, and the Voter Roll.
Early voting ballots were also delivered and will remain under safekeeping at the INE headquarters until they are used as required by law.
Subsequently, the ballot counting, sealing, and grouping process will be carried out, for final delivery to the polling station board chairs.
With this, Quintana Roo declares itself ready for a historic election that will set a precedent for citizen participation in the direct election of the judiciary at the state and federal levels.
