Colapinto escaped the race! Gasly collided with Tsunoda and nearly hit his Alpine teammate at the Monaco GP.

The French driver ran out of brakes on the corner after the tunnel and nearly took out the Argentine in what was the first retirement of the Monaco GP.
Franco Colapinto had a miraculous escape after his teammate Pierre Gasly rear-ended Yuki Tsunoda entering the Nouvelle Chicane at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. The Frenchman was the first driver to retire on the tricky street circuit.
The truth is that the Alpine driver's left front tire made contact with the Red Bull 's right rear tire while braking in the chicane after the tunnel, breaking the suspension.

"I have no brakes," the French driver complained over the radio before retiring in the pits.
Tsunoda , who was in 17th position after a pit stop on the opening lap, asked over the radio: "Is he an idiot? What are he doing?" but continued on, apparently unharmed.
Although the pit lane entrance was briefly closed, no Safety Car or Virtual Safety Car was deployed while local yellow flags covered the recovery of debris.
After the collision with Tsunoda, Gasly avoided the chicane and continued straight ahead with a completely untamable car, now without suspension but also without brakes.

This Alpine, which could not be stopped by anything, was on the verge of colliding with the right side of his car and quickly avoided it, demonstrating reflexes worthy of a driver in this category.
