Formula 1 in Madrid today: route, traffic closures, location, and how to get to the Madring with Carlos Sainz.

The streets of Madrid will host the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix for ten years (between 2026 and 2035), which the capital has taken from Catalonia starting next season. To whet your appetite, this Saturday, June 7 , Carlos Sainz will test the street section of the future circuit, which will be named Madring.
Sainz will get into the Williams FW45 in an 'afternoon' (as it has been called) open to the public and in which he will exhibit a car that is not the one he wore when he arrived at Williams in 2025, but rather the single-seater that the team used in Formula 1 in 2023 .
The Madrid native will not be alone, but will be accompanied by Spanish F2 and F3 drivers Pepe Martí and Mari Boya , respectively, both driving their Campos Racing cars.
The exhibition will take place in the Barajas district, the area where the circuit will be run from 2026. This Saturday's roadshow by Carlos Sainz, just over a kilometre long, will run parallel to the Ifema Madrid exhibition centre, crossing Ribera del Sena Street, part of Avenida del Partenón and Avenida de la Capital de España .
The organizers recommend arriving early for the exhibition, which begins at 6:55 p.m. However, starting at 5:00 p.m., there will be entertainment along the route and interaction with fans. To this end, Madrid Metro will be strengthening its service on lines 4 and 8, as Feria de Madrid (L8), Canillas (L4), and Mar de Cristal (L4 and L8) are the closest stations to the route.
Admission is free , and there will be giant screens along the route to follow the roadshow in detail.
Traffic will be affected. The streets Carlos Sainz will be using will be closed from early this morning . The Ifema parking lot will also be closed to the general public for this event.
DAZN, the platform that owns the rights to Formula 1 racing, will broadcast Carlos Sainz's performance on the streets of Madrid this Saturday.
Television coverage will begin at 6:55 PM and will be hosted by the platform's regular team of experts. Viewing will be exclusively free via the DAZN app or website .
