LaLiga faced its final and decisive matchday this Saturday with several teams still undefined. Before matchday 38, it was already known that Real Valladolid and Las Palmas had already been relegated. The third club that would join them in the Second Division remained to be determined.
The two candidates were Espanyol and Leganés . Before their matches, the Pericos (39 points) were two points ahead of the Pepineros (37). The curious thing is that both were playing with the two teams already relegated: Espanyol-Las Palmas and Leganés-Valladolid .
The Madrid team had to win and depend on what happened at the RCDE Stadium. Borja Jiménez's team did their homework in the first half and thrashed Valladolid 3-0 .
Manolo González's team, on the other hand, struggled mightily against the Canaries, and it wasn't until the 65th minute that they took the lead from the penalty spot with a goal from Puado. The goal that calmed the score was scored by Pere Milla. Espanyol therefore remained in the league , while Leganés was relegated to the Second Division .

In Europe , things were more or less clear, but two places remained to be decided (one in the Europa League and one in the Conference League). The Champions League was decided, and the five teams that would qualify were already known: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid , Atlético de Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, and Villarreal . Betis had one Europa League spot.
Seventh and eighth place were at stake. Before the matchday, Celta occupied 7th place with 52 points, while Rayo Vallecano held 8th place with 51 points . Osasuna also sat one place below, also on 51 points .
In the end, Celta defeated Getafe and secured their Europa League spot with 55 points. Rayo Vallecano drew with Mallorca and will play in the Conference League after finishing with 52. Osasuna finished with the same number of points, but that doesn't count towards their European qualification after a draw with Alavés.
