New York., Trevor Story drove in five runs, Garrett Crochet struck out Aaron Judge three times and the Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees 10-7 to even their weekend series at one game apiece.

In his first start at Yankee Stadium, Crochet (6-4) allowed a season-high five runs and six hits in six innings, striking out nine and walking one. He has 32 strikeouts in his last three starts.

Judge, for his part, went 0-for-4, dropping his major league average to .390. The New York team, leading the American League East, lost for the fourth time in 13 games, and hitting coach James Rowson was ejected in the fourth inning for arguing balls and strikes .

Meanwhile, Aroldis Chapman retired three consecutive batters for his 10th save in 11 chances, falling over first base as he stepped on the bag for the final out . Ryan Yarbrough allowed eight runs and nine hits in four innings as his ERA rose from 2.83 to 4.17.

For the second day in a row, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 thanks to a game-winning hit by Nolan Arenado.

The American batter, of Puerto Rican descent, sealed the victory for the home team in the bottom of the ninth inning with the score tied at 1-1.

The 34-year-old former Colorado Rockies player hit a single off reliever Ben Casparius that traveled unstoppably to left field and allowed the decisive run to Cuban José Barrero.
