The National Court upholds the €10,800 fine imposed on Rubiales for kissing Jenni Hermoso.

The Criminal Division of the National Court has rejected Luis Rubiales ' appeal and upheld the sentencing of the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation to a fine of 20 euros a day for 18 months for the non-consensual kiss on soccer player Jenni Hermoso .
The Fourth Section of the Court, however, maintains the acquittal of the leader and the rest of the accused in the proceedings for coercion: Jorge Vilda , former women's national team coach, Albert Luque , former director of football for the men's section, and Rubén Rivera , head of marketing for the Federation.
In addition to Rubiales ' appeal, the court also ruled on the appeals filed by the National Court Prosecutor's Office and the private and private prosecutions, upholding its ruling of February 20 in full.
Rubiales ' restraining order against Jenni Hermoso within a 200-meter radius, as well as any further communication with the victim within one year, remains in place. Despite the prosecution's request for €50,000 in compensation, the Court maintains the amount at €3,000 plus interest accrued during this period.
The facts established in the ruling regarding the sexual assault suffered by the player during the medal ceremony at the 2024 World Cup in Australia, where the Spanish women's national soccer team was crowned champion, are thus confirmed. The court also confirms that the player did not suffer any form of coercion during the national team's return to Spain or during the subsequent trip to Ibiza, as a reward for winning the title.
