Thomas Partey is released on parole and will be tried on September 2 for five counts of rape.

Former Arsenal and Atlético de Madrid player Thomas Partey has been released on bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, charged with five counts of rape and one of sexual assault , brought by three women, in incidents allegedly taking place between 2021 and 2022, for which he will go on trial on September 2.
In recent days, his signing as a free agent by Villarreal has been strongly rumored, provided his legal situation is resolved in favor of the former player; although a significant portion of his fans have actively expressed their dissatisfaction with his possible signing on social media.
The player, who was not asked to comment, has been under investigation for two and a half years, although the complaint was not made public until July 4, four days after his contract with Arsenal ended.
Partey will be barred from direct or indirect contact with the complainants, and his case has been transferred to a Crown court for his next trial on September 2 at the Old Bailey, the central criminal court of England and Wales.
The midfielder was accused by one woman of two counts of rape, another of three counts of rape, and a third of sexual assault, all of which the Ghanaian has always denied.
Partey, 32 , a Ghana international, joined Arsenal in 2020 from Atlético Madrid for €50 million and has been a regular starter for the team.
