Toluca and América will meet for the second time in a Liga MX final.

The Grand Final of the Liga MX Clausura 2025 Tournament is set and will pit the tournament's two best teams against each other: Toluca and América. Both teams arrive after overcoming intense and exciting semifinal series .
Tournament leaders Toluca secured their place in the final after defeating Tigres UANL 4-1 on aggregate. In the second leg, played at Nemesio Diez Stadium, the Diablos Rojos won 3-0, with Alexis Vega scoring two goals and providing an assist, a standout performance. Coach Antonio Mohamed expressed his excitement about playing in the final and highlighted the advantage of closing out the series at home.
Meanwhile, América , the tournament's runner-up and three-time defending champion, secured their place in the final after eliminating Cruz Azul. Despite losing 1-0 in the first leg, the Águilas rallied in the second leg, played at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, with a 2-1 victory, securing their place in the final with a 2-2 aggregate score.
This will be the second time Toluca and América have faced each other in a league final . The first time occurred in the 1970-1971 season, the first final in the history of the Liguillas, where América was crowned champion. In total, the two teams have faced each other in 11 knockout series, with Toluca winning six and América winning five.
América will be seeking its 17th title and the coveted fourth championship, while Toluca aims to win its eleventh championship in the professional era, edging closer to Guadalajara, which has 12 titles.
