Toluca defeats América to win the 2025 Clausura

TOLUCA.- Toluca defeated América 2-0 on Sunday to win the 2025 Clausura tournament in Mexican soccer, their eleventh crown.
Brazilians Luan and Alexis Vega scored for the Diablos, who ended a 15-year drought without winning a league championship .
The Eagles' clearest chance was a shot off the post by Israel Reyes in the first half. It was a sign that the Devil was blessed.
At the start of the second half (47'), the Azulcrema team's debacle began with the exit of Henry Martín. The Águilas captain couldn't take it anymore and had to be substituted. In the 65th minute, Luan García opened the scoring with a header from a corner kick.
The fire raged on, and even though Jardine began to move his pieces, Antonio "Turco" Mohamed had everything under control. América surged forward, and a sprint ended the Azulcrema dominance.
Cesar Ramos awarded a controversial penalty on Sebastián Cáceres , and Alexis Vega, the best player of the 2025 Clausura tournament, converted the penalty from the penalty spot.

For strategist Antonio Mohamed, this is his fourth title with his fourth different team, after the crowns he won with Xolos (Apertura 2012), América (Apertura 2014), Rayados (Apertura 2019) and this one in the Clausura 2025.
