Booking.com shared a guide with some events you can find nationwide and recommendations for enjoying the destination to the fullest.
  • Colonias Fair, Bogotá. Until July 22nd, this event brings together hundreds of exhibitors from Colombia's 32 departments with artisanal, culinary, and entrepreneurial displays. Ideal for those looking to discover new cultures and destinations, and if you're looking for accommodation, a recommended area is Teusaquillo.
  • Sun and Steel Festival, Sogamoso (Boyacá). This celebration honoring the Muisca roots will take place from July 17 to 20. This year's event's theme is "Living is Incredible," and it will feature performances by artists such as Carlos Vives, Paola Jara, and Sergio Vargas. Due to its location, you can take advantage of the opportunity to visit Lake Tota or the nearby Iza hot springs.
  • Fiestas del Mar, Santa Marta. From July 23rd to 29th, the people of Santa Marta will share their ancestral heritage, their cultural richness, and a packed schedule of sporting, musical, and recreational activities to commemorate the city's 500 years of history. This event will feature an agenda that integrates art, fashion, gastronomy, tourism, and music. In addition to visiting this destination, you can plan a getaway to other tourist attractions such as Tayrona or Minca.
  • Flower Fair, Medellín. From August 1st to 10th, Medellín becomes a meeting point for silleteros, flower shows, and concerts. This event is considered one of the most important in the country. Some areas where you can stay are: Laureles, Manila, and El Poblado.
  • National Cumbia Festival, El Banco, Magdalena. August 14-17. Recognized as a National Cultural Heritage, this event pays tribute to cumbia and its founder, José Barros. Each year, this gathering features unreleased song contests, cumbia couples and comparsas, as well as academic, culinary, and artisanal programming.

The main recommendation is to organize everything in advance. Since these are busy times , it's best to check tickets and accommodations ahead of time so they don't cost too much and you can choose a strategic location.
