An octogenarian poisoned while fighting a fire in Fréjus

According to information from Sdis 83, the fire (which started shortly before midnight) involved a hedge at the edge of a house and spread to the garden furniture.

An 88-year-old man was poisoned while fighting the flames.

Taken into care by Samu 83, he was transported to the intercommunal hospital.

The significant force put in place by the Sdis 83 (two urban firefighting vehicles, two forest firefighting vehicles, a large-capacity water carrier vehicle, a command vehicle and an ambulance, i.e. 22 firefighters) made it possible to protect the house.

However, 60 metres of hedges were destroyed and the fire caused concern in the area, a few hours after a fire required the evacuation of a thousand people at the end of the morning in Fréjus.
