Dordogne: Octogenarian missing for five days found on the edge of the Périgord Vert

Dordogne: Octogenarian missing for five days found on the edge of the Périgord Vert
The octogenarian disappeared on July 3. DR

With no news of an octogenarian living in Neuvic since Wednesday, July 3, the department's gendarmerie launched an appeal for witnesses the following Friday. She was found alive on Tuesday, July 8, in Haute-Vienne.

A story with a happy ending. The octogenarian who disappeared in Neuvic last week was found at the wheel of her city car more than 80 kilometers away, in Dournazac, a small town in Haute-Vienne (87), which borders the Périgord Vert region. Seeing her disoriented inside her vehicle, a local resident alerted the emergency services. The Neuvic resident, who suffers from cognitive impairment, had not given any sign of life since Thursday, July 3. The Dordogne gendarmerie then launched an appeal for witnesses two days later. The octogenarian was transferred to the Limoges University Hospital for follow-up tests.
