Two hectares covered, resumption during the night, surveillance of the area... What we know after the fire on the A8 in Fréjus, fixed again this Tuesday morning

It was a long night for firefighters working on the blaze that started near the A8 motorway in Fréjus around 10 p.m. on Monday. A strong wind caused the fire to flare up again. The darkness and the steep terrain posed challenges for the firefighters, who managed to contain the blaze after it had reached the two-hectare mark.
The fire, which started around 10 p.m. near the motorway, initially spread slowly , and the efforts of 60 firefighters equipped with 17 firefighting engines enabled it to be contained for the first time shortly before 11:30 p.m. after it had covered 1,000 m².
To ensure that any new outbreaks are quickly quelled, a surveillance unit was still in place on Tuesday morning.
