Every day, Le Figaro visits a charming village that has won over celebrities. Today, we travel to Corsica, to this hamlet, renowned for its views of the turquoise sea, which has become an alternative to the frenzy of the Côte d'Azur.

It feels like we're on the ring road. From July to September, between Porto and Piana, the road, steep as is customary in Corsica , is more than congested. Motorcyclists weave between camper vans, rental cars, and pedestrians who, standing on the parapet, immortalize the view. And what a view: the famous "calanches" (in French, calanques), listed since 1983 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, between Ajaccio, to the south, and Calvi, to the north. The rock is red, the sea turquoise. The landscape, incomparable. Bumper to bumper, we head south.

There's something schizophrenic about Piana. In winter, the village is almost deserted, like many Corsican villages—only a few hundred souls live here year-round. It's not crowded, but thanks to the town hall's strong will, Piana still maintains a school (one-room), a library, and a post office, as well as a few shops open year-round. In summer, among tourists...
