Summer exhibitions: the flamboyant and baroque world of Christian Lacroix in Moulins

The artist works wonders by combining haute couture techniques, artisanal know-how and tricks from the world of the stage.
More than 140 costumes, from shows between 2007 and 2024 (with drawings, models and archives), constitute a chronological journey transformed into an evocative stroll through the history of fashion, interpreted by the hand and eye of the master. A visionary artist, famous for his flamboyant and baroque style, he won numerous awards, such as a Molière in 2006 for Cyrano de Bergerac, directed by Denis Podalydès at the Comédie-Française.
The audience can admire the way he creates costumes based on the silhouettes of the characters, playing with materials, colors, volumes and ornaments, thus bringing his unique artistic vision to the dramaturgy of the work performed on stage.
