Television. TNT: Which number for which channel? How to make the 10 changes?

Starting this Friday, June 6, viewers will have to adopt new habits: some channels will be changing their numbers. Others will be making their debut, like T18, then NOVO19 in September. Here's a look.

A minor revolution will take place in the television world tonight: the new numbering of DTT channels will take effect starting June 6. Many channels will be renumbered, and others will be added. This upheaval stems from the decision by Arcom, the audiovisual regulator, not to renew the authorization of the channels C8 and NRJ12 to broadcast on DTT. This has allowed for a more logical reordering of the channels.

The historic channels (TF1, France 2, France 3, M6) are not affected. Canal +'s decision to withdraw from DTT allows France 4 (which was on channel 14) to take its place and thus create a logical sequence of public service channels, from France 2 to France 5. Note that the logos of France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5 will disappear from the air from June 6 and will be replaced by the "single media brand" france.tv.

Free, Orange, SFR and Bouygues subscribers will be able to access Canal + via their box, channel 40.

The LCP-Public Sénat channels, which shared channel 13, are taking over channel 8, vacated by C8. The children's channel Gulli, previously on channel 18, will make a significant step forward by taking over channel 12, which was vacated following the shutdown of NRJ12.

Previously dispersed, the continuous news channels will now be grouped into a single block. BFM TV and CNews, which previously occupied places 15 and 16, will be moved up to channels 13 and 14 respectively. LCI (26) and Franceinfo (27), which were relegated to the end of the DTT channels, will make a leap by taking places 15 and 16 and will benefit favorably from this reorganization of the channels.

The shutdown of C8 and NRJ12 has made two people happy, beyond just the numbering changes: two new channels are arriving on DTT. Starting June 6, the T18 channel , from the CMI France group, owned by Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky , will be broadcast on channel 18. The channel's programs will focus on documentaries, entertainment, news, and debate programs.

Laurent Ruquier will host the launch show 18, it's now on June 6, at 7:45 p.m., accompanied by Ava Djamshidi and Matthieu Croissandeau. Then the host of RTL's Grosses têtes will be in charge of a cultural show called Chez Ruquier , every Saturday at 8 p.m. (In) search of meaning will be broadcast every Monday evening with a film or documentary followed by a debate with Ava Djamshidi, editor-in-chief of Elle magazine (belonging to the CMI France group). Matthieu Croissandeau is leaving the BFM TV morning show to host the current affairs debate show Pour tout vous dire , which will be broadcast from Monday to Friday at 10 p.m.

The NOVO19 channel (a contraction of "nous" and "vous"), part of the regional daily Ouest France, will be broadcasting on channel 19 starting September 1st . The program will include magazines, documentaries, films, and a talk show every weekday evening. The lineup is expected to be refined over the coming weeks.

NB: Changes and arrivals are in bold.

Arcom specifies that it has chosen "this new numbering to allow for better readability of the DTT offer, in the public interest."

Regarding viewers, the broadcasting regulator specifies that the vast majority of televisions will automatically update their numbering during the night of June 5 to 6, which will be proposed when the television is switched on on June 6. However, some users may need to perform a manual update, particularly for those receiving DTT channels via satellite or a rooftop antenna. For this, Arcom has set up a guide on its website. Advisors from the National Frequency Agency can also be reached at 09 70 81 88 18, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
