What is this craft market that is taking place in Bussière-Badil from Thursday?
From May 29 to June 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Bussière-Badil welcomes more than 40 ceramists for the 48th edition of the ceramics market.
Organized by the association Quatre à Quatre, the Bussière-Badil ceramics market highlights the most creative, artistic and accomplished contemporary ceramics, in a rural setting.
The event will welcome 45 European ceramists, including two guests of honor: Jean-Raymond Meunier for a solo exhibition in the village church, and Patrick Crulis, who will perform with clay in front of the audience. Jean-Raymond Meunier creates a unique universe, deeply rooted in singular art. He blends ceramics, wood, sheet metal, scrap metal, and paint in works that oscillate between poetry and humor, between everyday life and absurdity. Jean-Raymond Meunier's work is fueled by universal themes: love, work, solitude. With sensitivity, he will invite visitors to take a fresh look at these everyday subjects, which he transcends with his free spirit and offbeat humor, during the exhibition to be held in the Romanesque church of Bussière-Badil, alongside the ceramics market.
Patrick Crulis's work is characterized by its vitality and the freedom he takes with ceramics. His large-scale sculptures play on contrasts and tension in form and color, between pathos and burlesque, often emphasizing the anthropomorphic nature of his subjects. During the four days of the event, he will create a three-part sculpture in front of the public using various ceramic techniques (throwing, stamping, and rope jar), which will then be assembled.
