SNCF services on the Toulouse-Bordeaux line , affected by the storms that occurred at the beginning of the week in Tonneins (Lot-et-Garonne), will be able to partially resume on Wednesday, May 28, ICI Occitanie (formerly France Bleu) reported on Saturday, May 24. SNCF Réseau confirms that it will be able to maintain the optimistic scenario of its reopening schedule. Departures on the Ascension Day holiday (which begins Thursday, May 29) and returns on Sunday will be assured, at least partially.
The construction work begun in Tonneins (Lot-et-Garonne) will be completed on the evening of Tuesday 27th. Trains will be able to run the following day, Wednesday, for the first time in ten days on the Marmande-Agen section. This will allow traffic to resume, at least in part, on the Bordeaux-Toulouse TGV and Intercités lines.
Due to long-planned work on this line during the Ascension Day holiday weekend—unrelated to the weather—some TGV and TGV Inoui trains have not been scheduled to run between Thursday, May 29 and Sunday, June 1 between Toulouse and Bordeaux. Passengers are encouraged to inquire about their reservations starting Monday afternoon.
SNCF Réseau must rebuild 200 meters of track damaged by Monday's storms. New rails must also be installed. Laying of these rails begins this Sunday, May 25. Inspections will take place Tuesday evening.
