Rhône. EasyJet is betting on four new routes from Lyon this fall.

With the arrival of a seventh aircraft at its Lyon base, easyJet will strengthen its offering. Four new destinations will arrive at the end of October. This will bring to 52 the number of routes operated by the low-cost airline from Saint-Exupéry Airport.

Announced for mid-2025, the seventh aircraft positioned by easyJet at its Lyon base is now operational. It will allow the British airline to further increase its presence at Saint-Exupéry, where it already has a significant market share, with a 28% market share at the airport in 2024 and 2.9 million passengers transported to and from Lyon (2.5 million in 2023).

With new destinations to Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Gran Canaria (Canary Islands), Pristina (Kosovo) and Tangier (Morocco) starting at the end of October, easyJet will offer 52 local routes. Sharm El Sheikh and Tangier will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, Gran Canaria on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while flights to Pristina will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The low-cost airline employs 300 people in Lyon, where it opened its base in 2008; a base that has continued to grow since.
