Strasbourg. Garage des XV: a solution emerges after a discussion between the owner and elected officials

Addressed at the last Strasbourg city council by opposition councillor Nicolas Matt ( DNA of July 2), the delicate issue of the Garage des XV , particularly impacted by the removal of parking spaces linked to the pedestrianization of Place Albert- 1er as part of the Espex (Outdoor Spaces) Rotterdam project, seems to be moving in the right direction. Following the council, and after several email exchanges, a new meeting was organized on Monday, June 30 between Philippe Sculli, the garage owner; Hubert Rallet, the former garage owner who still owns the walls; Marina Lafay, elected representative for the neighborhood; and Pierre Ozenne, deputy in charge of shared public spaces.
A "positive" meeting, according to those involved, who welcome several advances. "A plan was given to us, indicating some of the requested changes. Namely, the creation of a "turning" space in front of our workshop entrances, also allowing for the temporary "storage" of one or two vehicles; the relocation of a delivery area, as requested; the relocation of a disabled parking space and the waste bin," lists Hubert Rallet. Also enacted, it seems, is "the establishment of a 3-hour blue zone on part of Rue de l'Yser and the validation of a reservation of three parking spaces dedicated to the garage, with a "rental contract" for the public space," he specifies. In short, while everything is not yet settled, we seem to be moving towards a compromise.
