Boulevard Foch in Draguignan evacuated due to "chemical risks", some residents and shopkeepers confined

Since around 9:30 a.m. this Friday, June 27, Var firefighters have been responding to a dangerous product incident on Boulevard Foch in Draguignan, near the Croix Bleue pharmacy.
The street is blocked to pedestrians. Residents have been evacuated or confined. Shops have closed their doors.
"The Var firefighters intervened inside the pharmacy after the discovery of a bottle of acid presenting a high risk of deterioration," reports the Var Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS).
"In order to ensure the safety of the premises, the pharmacy, nearby homes and businesses were evacuated."
And the SDIS 83 added: "A team of civil security deminers is going to the scene."
The area is closed until further notice.
Around 11 a.m., the chemical hazard unit of the Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël fire department was still on site. Further reinforcements were expected.
