Texas is facing an unimaginable tragedy.

After catastrophic flooding struck central Texas on July 4, resulting in at least 70 fatalities, per NBC News, stars like Khloe Kardashian, Jennifer Garner and Maria Shriver spoke out about the devastation.

“Today my prayers are with the families in Texas impacted by the flooding on the Guadalupe River in Central Texas,” Maria wrote on Instagram July 5. “Right now they need us all to hold them in a circle of love.”

As the flash flood swept down the Guadalupe River, Camp Mystic—a Christian summer camp hosting 750 children—was among the establishments that were in the path of disaster. And while ten children and one counselor from the camp are still missing, per NBC News, the Kardashians star expressed her sympathy for their loved ones.

“I can’t stop thinking about the families in Texas and the overwhelming pain they’re going through right now,” Khloe wrote on her Instagram Stories July 6. “As a mother, this kind of tragedy hits in a place words can’t reach. The loss of those sweet, innocent children is something I can’t fully process, There are just no words for this.”

For her part, her mom Kris Jenner also shared that she was struggling to come to terms with the terrible tragedy.

“My heart is absolutely shattered by the devastating floods in Texas and the unimaginable loss of those previous children,” the reality star wrote on her Instagram Stories. “It’s a tragedy that’s impossible to comprehend and heartbreaking beyond measure.”

“Life is so fragile, and at times unbearably unfair,” she continued. “To the families living this nightmare, we are holding you in our hearts, praying for strength, and grieving alongside you.”

Meanwhile, the 13 Going on 30 actress, who was born in Houston, shared a simple message of support.

“Texas,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “God, be near.”

For others like Meredith Hagner and Christy Carlson Romano, the horrific floods felt even closer to home.

“I grew up spending my summers on the Guadalupe at an all girls camp next to camp mystic,” the Vacation Friends star wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Part of my heart and soul is the Guadalupe river and in the hill country.”

“A spot where little girls were safe and loved and were connected to nature,” she continued. “My heart is shattered for the parents experiencing the unfathomable.”

As for Christy? Well, she may have narrowly avoided an unfathomable heartbreak.

“I’m sitting outside waiting for my daughter at a playdate thinking about how we were almost thinking of Camp Mystic for a camp choice,” the Even Stevens alum said. “A lot of people I know send their kids there and a few of them don’t know where their kids are or they were just recently reunited with them.”
