"Don't procrastinate!": Marine Le Pen urges her troops to prepare for a possible dissolution

"Don't procrastinate!": Marine Le Pen urges her troops to prepare for a possible dissolution

"It would be quite dangerous, I believe, to convince ourselves that there will be no dissolution," declared the leader of the RN, opening a "National Union convention" in the Assembly, bringing together national and European parliamentarians from the RN-UDR alliance, almost a year to the day after the first round of the last legislative elections.

The president of the RN group in the Assembly claimed a "strategic victory" , with the "dislocation of the central bloc" bringing together the groups of the former majority (Renaissance-MoDem-Horizons) and LR, which "no longer seems to obey any direction" according to her.

Eric Ciotti, leader of the UDR (Union of the Right for the Republic), appealed to voters and activists of his former party, LR: "Join us, hope is there, courage is there."

Brandishing the "parliamentary collapse" of the executive duo Emmanuel Macron - François Bayrou, the leader of the extreme right considered that "the central bloc (...) cannot allow this phenomenon of disintegration to continue for long."

"So Emmanuel Macron may be tempted to dissolve," added Ms Le Pen, who at this stage would be prevented from running in the legislative elections pending her appeal in the case of the FN MEP assistants, for which she was sentenced at first instance to immediate ineligibility.

Referring to a "possibility, not a probability," as the July 8 date approaches when Emmanuel Macron will regain his power of dissolution, she warned that "history will not repeat itself: if there is a dissolution (...) we must prevail."

The far-right leader also urged parliamentarians to start planning the 2026 municipal elections now. The exercise will be "decisive for the movement, but also concretely for your re-election in your respective constituencies."

"We all agree that this government will not last very long (...) because it is marked by the seal of impotence," added RN president Jordan Bardella, before the opening of this convention, both an anniversary of the RN-UDR alliance and a day of conferences with guests.

According to a source within the group, the parliamentarians are expected to meet with André Merlin, an engineer and industrialist who was the former head of RTE; François Ecalle, a former senior civil servant at Bercy specializing in public finances; senior civil servant Christophe Eoche-Duval, on the subject of simplification; and essayist Stéphane Rozès.
