Their names were far from being brought up by chance. Laurent, the couple Julien and Manon Tanti, and the influencer Nasdas were chosen by a major public consultation in which 32,000 people, the majority of them high school students, voted on the French content creators considered the most problematic. The calamitous quartet will be questioned on Tuesday, June 10, by the commission of inquiry into the psychological effects of TikTok, which has been meeting at the National Assembly since March. The deputies' objective is to "take stock" of the consequences the social network can have on minors and to see "how it is possible to regulate them," Socialist deputy Arthur Delaporte, who chairs the body, explained to Libération . More specifically, the left-wing representative intends to ask them "if they are aware that their content can be shocking, especially among younger people."
The commission's final conclusions will be presented no later than September 12, following hearings with around a hundred people, including economists.
