Emmanuel, a farmer, explains to us what the Duplomb law will change

Published on July 31, 2025
As of July 31, 2025, more than two million people have signed the petition against the Duplomb Law. Yet the government, the right, and the far right continue to claim that it is a necessary and harmless project. While the pesticide acetamiprid has been at the heart of debates and criticism, there are several other measures in this law that raise questions, such as the facilitation of the infamous mega-basins.
Laurent Duplomb, the senator who initiated this law, a "farmer" but above all a FNSEA executive and president of the Haute-Loire Chamber of Agriculture, insists that "restrictions on farming professions" must be lifted. So is this a law that all farmers want? How will it impact their work?
To answer these questions, Théo Bourrieau and Marie Toulgoat welcome Emmanuel Vandamme, organic farmer and spokesperson for the peasant confederation in IDF.
