Live. Israel-Iran conflict: Tehran, targeted overnight, continues its response

Israel announced Friday that it had struck Iran's military and nuclear sites and vowed to continue its military operation "to eliminate this threat." The strikes hit several areas in Iran, including the capital Tehran and the Natanz uranium enrichment facility. Numerous regime officials and six scientists from Iran's nuclear program were killed.

On Friday evening, Iran retaliated by launching ballistic missiles at Israel: an attack that was more impressive than effective, revealing Iranian impotence. Netanyahu sees a political opportunity in this new chapter being written in the Middle East, a position he had previously felt more isolated than ever due to the unilateral and bloody war he is waging in Gaza.
