A joint committee is scheduled to examine the proposed organic law on the postponement of provincial elections in New Caledonia on Monday, October 27. Supported by the government, the bill has not met with unanimous support, either in Paris or in Noumea, where the FLNKS separatists are calling for the vote to be held as early as November.
