Radio J journalist Frédéric Haziza files complaint against Jean-Luc Mélenchon

Frédéric Haziza, a journalist with Radio J, one of the Jewish community radio stations, reported on Sunday, August 31, that he had filed a complaint against the leader of La France Insoumise (LFI), Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who had criticized him during the party's summer schools. A week ago, Radio J had "strongly" condemned the "unacceptable accusations" made by its journalist, who has been hosting interviews with political figures every weekend for the past thirty-eight years.
During a speech given in Drôme on August 22, the LFI leader specifically attacked Frédéric Haziza, whom he accused of questioning "everyone who passes by, saying: 'Isn't it true that Mélenchon is anti-Semitic?'" "And you have people dying of fear of some inquisition who start saying 'yes, yes,'" he added.
"Target on the back""By naming him publicly, in the context of the increasing anti-Semitic attacks in France, Jean-Luc Mélenchon is intentionally putting a target on the back of Frédéric Haziza and Radio J," the radio station said in a statement. Mr. Haziza filed a complaint this week for "doxing" (the practice of revealing private information, which puts the person at risk), according to the copy consulted by Agence France-Presse (AFP). Contacted by AFP, LFI has not yet responded.
The LFI summer schools were marked by strong protests from the media and reporters on site after the radical left movement refused the accreditation request of a journalist from Le Monde . The journalist, Oliver Pérou, co-wrote a book, La Meute (Flammarion), which is highly critical of the functioning of LFI.
Radio J had already protested in June after Jean-Luc Mélenchon had previously challenged Frédéric Haziza. In one of his rallies, Mélenchon had accused him of spreading the "arguments of the Israeli embassy" in the National Assembly and had stated, without further details, that he enjoyed "unconditional support."
