Sébastien Lecornu appointed Prime Minister: the choice of marking time on the right

He is one of Emmanuel Macron's first loyalists and now he has been rewarded . Sébastien Lecornu, 39, former Minister of the Armed Forces , becomes the seventh Prime Minister since the Head of State's first term. While the left was demanding Matignon, the Head of State opted for the candidate supported by former President Nicolas Sarkozy. He was also the profile least rejected by the National Rally, along with Bruno Retailleau, who should, with this choice, be re-elected to the Interior Ministry.
