Emmanuel Macron reflected on his eight-year term in office in a three-hour-plus interview on TF1 on Tuesday, May 13. The speech was criticized by all of his political opponents, including Jordan Bardella. "What the French saw last night was a President of the Republic at the end of his reign, in denial of a state that he himself bankrupted, " said the president of the National Rally on Wednesday, May 14, on the set of France 2's "8 p.m." news program.
The President of the Republic did not use his interview to announce any new concrete measures, even though he did raise the idea of social VAT .
