3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, Words Appart, Tragedy, Larusso... the Beach Sports Festival is coming to Saint-Laurent-du-Var

Sand, sport, music. This is the trifecta of the Beach Sport Festival, which takes place every July on the beach of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, near Cap 3000.

"We're ramping up for this 4th edition, I'm a happy mayor," said Joseph Segura, during the official presentation of the program, Thursday, June 12 at Cap 3000.

Music...

On the music front, it all kicks off on Tuesday, July 1st, with the free inaugural Kiss FM Live concert (reservation required) starting at 8:30 p.m.

Then, on Tuesday, July 15th, come the Beach 90 charity concert (from €26 to €35). On the menu, the cult hits of the 90s that marked an entire generation, with Charlie and Lulu at the helm. On the band side, Words Appart, Menelik, Tragédie, Larusso, L5, Billy Crawford... All profits will be donated to partner associations: AFM-Téléthon, Ligue contre le cancer, Attrap'la Balle.

Finally, to finish on the music side, gipsy-pop ambassador Kendji Girac will be setting the place alight on Tuesday, July 22, to celebrate his 10-year career. The star made headlines in April 2024, after shooting himself in the heart. He said he "fakes a suicide" to scare his partner who was threatening to leave him .

...and sport

On the sports front, Saturday, July 5th, marks the 2nd edition of the Riviera Flag Bowl tournament. Organized in partnership with the Departmental American Football Committee, this tournament will showcase beach flag football, a non-contact version of American football played on the sand. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the public will be invited to try out the game. And from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., it's time for competition, with a major national tournament bringing together teams from all over France.

Sunday, July 6: Footvolley, with a historic premiere. This is the very first official French Cup for this spectacular discipline, co-organized with the Footvolley Club Laurentin. Juggling, acrobatic catches, diving headers... a guaranteed spectacle for this sport born on the beaches of Rio in the 1960s.

From Thursday, July 10th to Sunday, July 13th, it's time for beach tennis! Halfway between tennis and volleyball, the Beach Sport Festival hosts an official stop on the world tour: the prestigious ITF BT200. The world's best players will be in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. Qualifying matches will take place on Thursday, and the men's and women's main draws will take place from Friday to Sunday.

From Friday, July 18th to Sunday, July 20th, the highly anticipated French Beach Volleyball Championship will take place in Saint-Laurent. For the fourth consecutive year, the best men's and women's pairs in France will compete in front of Cap 3000.

And finally, in the wake of the Paris Olympic Games, Saint-Laurent-du-Var will host the French Open 3x3 basketball finals for the first time from Thursday, July 24 to Sunday, July 27. The best men's and women's teams, both senior and junior, will meet on Cousteau Beach. On a half-court, with a single basket, the pace promises to be frenetic, the duels explosive, and the show non-stop.

For children

On Wednesday, July 2, various sports and community partners will organize free initiations for children in the area, through various workshops, to promote physical activity at all ages.
