Two points ahead for RCT at half-time against Castres (12-10)

Two points ahead for RCT at half-time against Castres (12-10)

Not a high price to pay! That's what you should remember from the first half of the playoff between Rugby Club Toulonnais and Castres Olympique. The "red and black" are only leading by two points despite having had ample possession of the ball during the first half.

But once again, Pierre Mignoni's men were lacking in the final minutes as they created three great testing opportunities which were unfortunately wasted by fouls near the goal line.

Although they did manage to score 12 points through Melvyn Jaminet's goal, we regret the try disallowed in injury time for Paul Abadie on a not-so-obvious forward pass.

On the other hand, there is reason to be annoyed by the try conceded by Papali'i. The Tarn centre back row scored from a free kick taken on the 22m line, escaping the clutches of three defenders on a straight run that did not seem dangerous.

A try to zero was passed while Castres were playing with fourteen men. The only mistake of this first half was one that RCT paid for dearly.
