A host of French people at the Herculis Meeting in Monaco on July 11

The French team will be arriving in force on the Louis-II track on July 11th for the Herculis meeting. No fewer than eleven players have been announced by the meeting organizers.
Among the headliners will be Gabriel Tual , the French 800m record holder. Last year, he took third place in 1'42''10, a few weeks after winning the European title and the French record for the distance (1'41''61). The Talençais will once again engage in a close duel with the Olympic champion, the Kenyan Emmanuel Wanyonyi, in a season where he believes the world record could fall.
In the 5000m, Northerner Jimmy Gressier will be a big draw. Having just improved his own French record by three seconds at the Paris meeting, clocking 12:51.59, he will be looking to do the same in the Principality. There, he will be competing against his compatriot Yann Schrub.
With the World Championships in September in their sights, and having already achieved the minimum time, European 3000m steeplechase champion Alexis Miellet and his runner-up Djilali Bedrani will come and test themselves on the Rock.
Triple jumper Thomas Gogois , Olympian and bronze medalist at the European Championships in Rome last year, will be aiming for the minimums for the World Championships in Tokyo.
In the hurdles, Sasha Zhoya and Wilhelm Belocian will try to match Olympic champion Grant Holloway , an American who has had some difficulties this season.
In the women's category, middle distance and sprinting will be well represented. European indoor 1500m champion Agathe Guillemot (competing in the 1000m) and European 400m hurdles runner-up Louise Maraval will be among those to watch.
The combination athlete Auriana Lazraq-Khlass will be competing in the shot put competition.
