An exceptional grant voted by Boulazac-Isle-Manoire for the basketball club

A "promotion bonus" of 50,000 euros was voted on Wednesday, July 9, by the Municipal Council.
This is what you call seizing the opportunity. In order to support the momentum of Boulazac Basket Dordogne (BBD), crowned with a Pro B title and a rise to the national elite, the City of Boulazac-Isle-Manoire has decided to grant "an exceptional subsidy" to the only professional club in the department. The resolution was voted on by the City Council on Wednesday, July 9.
"A promotion bonus" – in the words of Mayor Fanny Castaignede – which amounts to 50,000 euros. This is in addition to the annual subsidy allocated to the BBD public limited company (SA), amounting to 220,000 euros. This latter subsidy is expected to increase next season to allow the team managed by Alexandre Ménard to perform well in the division.
Jacques Auzou, who was long-time president of the BBD and mayor of Boulazac, was present at the start of the session; having left during the City Council meeting, he did not take part in the vote, nor did the elected representatives of Semipal, the organization that manages the Palio. The subsidy was voted unanimously.
