Swimming: the Périgourdins in great shape during the regional championships

The swimmers from the AC Périgueux agglomeration achieved excellent performances in Mérignac, with medals and personal bests to their name.
The regional swimming championships brought together 300 swimmers from 48 clubs at the UCPA Aqua Stadium in Mérignac. Among them were seven swimmers from Acap, accompanied by officials Pierre Parmentier and Jean-Louis Hagard.
Lucas Van Oort, the club's Dutchman, confirmed his form seen at the Dutch junior championships. He won a regional silver medal in the 100m breaststroke (1:09.89) and took fourth place in the 50m breaststroke in 31.59, thus coming within twelve hundredths of a second of qualifying for the French Open Summer Championships. He also had good performances in the 50m freestyle (25.75) and 200m medley (2:21.39), for participations in three A finals and one B final. Given his great season and constant progression, he is one of the Périgord swimmers to watch.
Like Igorian Burki who, after only five months of training, won two medals in breaststroke (silver in the 100m, breaking his personal best in 1:10.63, and bronze in the 200m). While Clélie Balek-Descamp won two titles, in the 200m and 400m medley, while taking bronze in the 400m freestyle.
Many finalsLoévan Schaffner, for his part, produced two fine performances in the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke. His dedication to training paid off. Isaure Balek-Descamp competed in two A finals and one B final, thus nicely rounding off a season marked by strong performances.
For his return to competition, Mathieu Jarnier notably achieved good times in the 200m medley (2:28.55), 50m freestyle (26.14), 100m breaststroke (1:15.67) and 50m breaststroke (32.73). He also participated in three B finals in these last two distances and in the 200m medley. Finally, Anna Colven achieved decent times and qualified for the B final in the 100m backstroke, despite a minor injury that hampered her all weekend.
