AS Monaco: Season over for Aleksandr Golovin

It's the culmination of a failed season for the AS Monaco playmaker. Having only appeared 19 times for Monaco, Aleksandr Golovin will most likely not play again in Ligue 1 before the final matchday on May 17. "I think he's out for the rest of the season. He still has a groin injury," his coach Adi Hütter confirmed at a press conference on Thursday.
Decisive only three timesThe former CSKA Moscow player has had a season cut short by injuries. First, his ankle at the start of the season and then in November, and then a torn adductor muscle that has been lingering since February... all for just 17 minutes of play in two and a half months. The Russian has not been spared from physical setbacks, and his performance has suffered greatly.
With three goals and no assists to his name this season, the playmaker has had a more than challenging 2024-25 season, both statistically and in terms of his on-field involvement. Aleksandr Golovin is still under contract with AS Monaco until 2029.
