Cannes player Julien Domingues is set to join Dijon FCO

It was the fear of all Cannes supporters that their star striker, who had scored 25 goals in all competitions, would leave at the end of the season. It was Dijon (4th in the National) who managed to attract the player for next season.

25 goals, 2 assists and an unforgettable overhead kick

AS Cannes' superb run in the Coupe de France has put several players from the Côte d'Azur club in the spotlight, starting with Domingues. The center forward scored 10 goals and provided one assist in this competition, culminating in a spectacular overhead kick against Dives-Cabourg in the round of 16. Even though Cannes' adventure ended in the semi-finals against Reims on April 2, the Arles native remains joint top scorer since the round of 32, alongside Gonçalo Ramos (PSG).

It is also in the championship that the Dragons striker has made a name for himself. The 29-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided 1 assist in 22 matches . After a difficult start to the season, Cannes have been able to bounce back under the leadership of Damien Ott and are currently 2nd in Group A of National 2. A true fan favorite, the number 22, who shone under number 9 in the Coupe de France, celebrated his 100th match in the red and white jersey this season.

Professional debut

For the first time in his career, Julien Domingues is expected to play for a professional club next August. Trained away from the spotlight and having spent time at various levels of amateur football (JSO Aubord, Le Pontet, Endoume, Saint-Malo, Trélissac), he has established himself as a key striker at Cannes since 2021.

With this future signing at Dijon FCO, which has been a professional club since 2004 and ambitious in its desire to return to Ligue 2, the Franco-Portuguese will begin a new chapter on the eve of his 30th birthday.
