The 21-year-old American won her first Parisian tournament this Saturday, June 7, against Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (6-7, 6-2, 6-4), gradually extinguishing her opponent's attacking intentions.

It's a wall. Coco Gauff is capable of returning the ball, again and again, of wiping the baseline at a frightening speed, then of launching herself forward with a sudden burst to catch a drop shot, and, at the end of the run, offer herself an exceptional point. An ordeal for her opponents. And on the ochre clay of the Roland-Garros center court, world number one Aryna Sabalenka lived it for more than two hours this Saturday, June 7, smothered as she was, slowly but surely, by the American at the top of her game to offer herself her first Parisian final.
